Out of the Woods
Show adapted for students aged 11 – 14 years old
Life is hard for Flick. Since the King was taken by the Dark Dog, people don’t trust each other. When she’s forced out of Stonewall, Flick makes a plan: to find the Dark Dog and prove she belongs in the city. But life in the forest is even harder and she’ll need to learn quickly if she wants to survive. Will she be the hero Stonewall needs or will she never come out of the woods?

5. Here’s more information about the characters of the story.
Flick: A beggar in Stonewall and our protagonist. Flick feels what other people feel and she believes in kindness and generosity.
Lady Protectoress: The ruler of Stonewall. Someone who rules using fear, anger and hatred. She protects the people of Stonewall from The Dark Dog and the dangers outside Stonewall’s walls.
Gudishews: Lady Protectress’s right-hand man. He does everything she says, running Bootcamps, selling fear. The ultimate puppet and“suck-up”.
Typhus the Magnificent: The leader of a small circus troupe. Typhus is not very kind, but he is clever. He gets his troupe to do the hard work while he brings in the riches.
Nike Strongman: The main attraction of the troupe. Nike is very strong, but very shy. All he wants to do is be a dancer, but he doesn’t have the courage to talk to people or dance in front of crowds.
King Adam: The former King of Stonewall. Disappears after the Dark Dog takes him…

TACHE FINALE (au choix / à faire par équipes de 2, 3 ou 4 élèves)
1. Tu as assisté à la pièce « Out of the woods ». Ecris un article en anglais pour le journal du collège.
– Donne des éléments factuels sur l’évènement théâtral du 14 novembre ( date ? titre de la pièce ? en quelle langue ? quels élèves concernés ? combiens d’acteurs ? où cela a-t-il eu lieu ? durée ? etc ).
– Tu fais un résumé de l’histoire « out of the woods »
– Tu donnes des informations sur les Pickles et notamment sur les 3 acteurs.
– Tu donnes également ton opinion sur la pièce. En quoi as-tu amélioré ton anglais? Qu’est-ce qui t’a aidé à mieux comprendre? Qu’est ce que tu as préféré? Qu’est ce que tu as le moins aimé?
– tu mets en page ton travail sous forme d’article en version numérique. (titre, sous-titres, colonnes, photos etc)
2. Tu joues un rôle dans la pièce de théâtre. Ecris un article pour le journal du collège en expliquant tes motivations, le casting et ta sélection. Explique aussi les répétitions avec les comédiens. Explique ton rôle sur scène et dis ce que cette expérience t’a appris et si elle t’a plue (et pourquoi).
3. Tu as fait les Workshops (élèves de LCE). Donne l’objectif de l’atelier, et explique une ou deux activités.
